The Competitors Fee of Pakistan (CCP) has imposed a penalty of Rs. 5 million on Shainal Al-Syed Meals Restricted for misleading advertising and marketing practices that are in violation Part 10 of the Competitors Act 2010.
Nationwide Meals Restricted complained to the CCP that Shainal Meals was copying its trademark and emblem in packing, advertising and marketing, and promoting its meals merchandise. Furthermore, the colour scheme and design of the Shainal Meals’ merchandise was starkly much like that of the Nationwide Meals’ merchandise, which was deceptive the shoppers.
CCP’s enquiry established that Shainal Meals was imitating the emblem, packaging, colour scheme and design of Nationwide Meals’s merchandise, thus doubtlessly harming its enterprise curiosity in addition to deceptive the shoppers.
The fee’s order famous that though Shainal Meals was given substantial time to amend its branding to deal with the competitors issues, no severe effort was made by the corporate on this regard. The CCP imposed a penalty of PKR 5 million on Shainal Meals and directed the corporate to repackage its merchandise to tell apart them from the merchandise of Nationwide Meals.
